PNAU’s ‘Chameleon’ is already blasting through our stereos so its fair to say summer has definitely come early, as the song proves to be ‘the anthem’ for the coming months.
After four years in hibernation, PNAU (pronounced as Pa-Now) told Triple J how they hated their last album which unfortunately failed to attract much public traction but it looks like 2016 may be the year with the growing hype surrounding ‘Chameleon’.
Featuring vibrant vocals from Shakira Marshall, who has worked as a vocalist alongside Lauryn Hill but mainly performs under her alter-ego stage name of Kira Divine.
The video accompanying the song is bright, energetic and full of glowing colours making you want to just get up out of your seat and groove.
For those who can’t remember, the Australian music duo, Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes from Sydney began performing as PNAU back in 1999. However the pair met at secondary school and at the age of 13 were sneaking into raves, both sharing a passion for upbeat, electronic rave music.
The pair have released a number of albums and hits, their most popular being ‘Baby’ released in 2008, ‘Embrace’, ‘With You Forever’ and ‘Wild Strawberries’ which were released in 2007.
The pair have also been well-known in the to many Australian music festivals, more notably performing at the Big Day Out in 2012 and Homebake in 2002.
Despite being unheard of over the past few years ‘Chameleon’ has definitely revived PNAU back to life.
