Watch out for Ravyn Lenae after dropping her soulful, eclectic and urban ‘Moon Shoes’ EP this 16 year old girl from Chicago has a voice and beat well beyond her time.

Lenae began singing in middle school and then began learning the guitar and piano. Two years ago, she began writing her own music after initially writing poetry then developing them into melodic musical tunes.

Her musical talents caught the attention of A Zae Production from Lyrical Eyes Management to which Lenae signed with as her management. Later, she caught the attention of music mogul, Live Nation and was placed in Hype magazine.

Her Sound:

When you first here Lenae’s songs, in particular her latest single,’Alive’ one can almost imagine Jhene Aiko singing but the unique and organic beat makes it her own.

Her music fuses R&B, soul, pop and funk with unique and urban beats making her sound futuristic and well ahead of her time. So, definitely one to monitor!

Her Inspiration:

When creating her funky beats, Lenae gets her main inspiration from the simple things like observing body language and listening to strangers conversations on the train.

Where to from here:

I think its fair to say this girl ain’t living life in the slow lane. Dropping two visuals and three songs in under six months and headlining African Fest in Chicago last year Lenae has been on her grind.

Currently she is additionally combining her studies with her music passions after being accepted by scholarship to study at a specialist Performing Arts high school.

All I can say is keep your ears and eyes open for this girl in the coming months.
