Don’t sleep on this Brooklyn rapper who seemlessly moulds progression with 90’s era hip-hop nostalgia.
I discovered Dillon Cooper on Instagram, his 2016 hit ‘Blind’ was like a nugget of gold amongst the impending noise and from there I was instantly drawn to Cooper’s audacious energetic voice and character.
At only 25 years old, Dillon Jermaine Cooper has been hustling at his craft since the age of 8, which was really were it all started when he taught himself how to play the guitar.
At age 17, Cooper moved from his home in Brooklyn to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston to pursue his music dream.
Since then he has released a palette of mixtapes, including the likes of ‘Cozmic’ (2013) which features hit track, ‘State of Elevation’ and Cooper flexing his lyrical skill over Outkast’s ‘Ms Jackson’. On his 22nd birthday, he dropped his second mixtape, ‘X:XX’ (2014), which is equally impressive.
