The year may be halfway over but Halsey is just firing up with some brand-new tunes and upcoming album,’Manic’.
Guaranteed to kick start the new year off with a bang, multi-platinum artist Halsey’s new album, ‘Manic’ is set to drop on January 17, 2020.
‘Manic’ follows on from her chart-topping 2017 album, ‘hopeless fountain kingdom’ which peaked gold status in Australia.
Recently releasing ‘Graveyard’, the new single from ‘Manic’, is a tune about learning to care enough about yourself to leave an unhealthy relationship.
“The song is about being in love with someone who is in a bad place and loving them so much that you don’t realise that you’re going to that bad place with them.
“It’s also about learning to care about yourself enough not to follow them there,” she told Cosmopolitan.
Continuing to push her creative boundaries, just last week fans treated to a live stream of Halsey painting the artwork for her album’s cover.
Halsey has been known for her less manufactured, more messy and real pop persona, showing that ‘pop’ doesn’t have to be ‘perfect’ to be beautiful.
Growing up life was not always easy, at the age of 17 she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, then spending much of her youth couch-surfing while surviving off minimum wage. It wasn’t until she posted her first ever song, ‘Ghost’ on SoundCloud which has accelerated her music career ever since.
Since 2015, she has amassed 23 billion streams globally and sold more than nine million adjusted albums globally, while racking up a slew of awards along the way.
Halsey will be jetting over to Australia at the end of the year to play at Falls Festival across December and January. Get prepared to groove along to all her bangers, including ‘Now or Never’, ‘Without Me’ and ‘Bad at Love’.
