Top 5 Christmas Albums You Need For Christmas Day

This single was actually released last year and took out the number one spot on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary radio airplay chart. Co-written and co-produced by Gary Wells, who also co-wrote ‘Waking Up In Vegas’ and several songs on Perry’s ‘WITNESS’ album.

Let’s just say this is definitely one joyful, fun and pop-fuelled tune that puts a modern twist on the classic Christmas carol. Get cozy this Christmas to Perry, singing about her favourite time of the year and spending time with family in Denmark.

2. Lea Michele – ‘Christmas in the City’ – BUY HERE

It has been one of Michele’s dreams to create a Christmas record, so this is a dream come true. This is her third studio album and was produced by Alex and Adam Anders, also known for producing tunes featured on Glee.

The album takes paints Michele’s experiences of growing up in New York City and being with family and friends engaged in the holiday spirit, which is nicely articulated in the original track, ‘Christmas in New York’.

If you really want to get into the Christmas spirit, we reckon you should add ‘It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ and ‘Christmas in New York’ onto your Christmas Day playlist.

3.  Mariah Carey – ‘Merry Christmas Deluxe Anniversary Edition’ – BUY HERE

Let’s be honest, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a bit of Mariah Carey. Just listening to ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’ once is guaranteed to instantly get you into that jolly Christmas spirit.

The 1994 ‘Merry Christmas’ album may be an oldie but it sure is a timeless goodie. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of ‘Merry Christmas’, Carey has released a two-disc Deluxe Anniversary Edition with a mix of soulful, happy gospel tunes that just make you feel good.

4. Ne-Yo – ‘Another Kind of Christmas’ – BUY HERE

It’s been 12 months since you’ve probably pressed play on your Christmas playlist, let’s be real it’s probably getting a bit stale. Don’t fret, Ne-Yo is here to share around some contemporary Christmas vibes.

Keeping it short and memorable, Ne-Yo has penned five refreshed Christmas classics, including ‘This Christmas’, ‘Merry Christmas Baby’ and ‘The Christmas Song’. He has even created his own Christmas tunes, ‘Just Ain’t Christmas’ which details the pain of a break-up on Christmas Eve and ‘Talk About It’ detailing his childhood Christmas memories.

5. Dionne Warwick – ‘Dionne Warwick & The Voices of Christmas’ – BUY HERE

Finally, it isn’t Christmas without the classics. Warwick’s 38th studio album, is filled to the brim with plenty of festive classics to really get you into the Christmas spirit. The album features the talented Aloe Black, Andra Day, Johnny Mathis, Michel McDonald, The Oak Ridge Boys and John Rich.

Warwick carefully ensured each song was suited to her duet partner.

“Each of the songs felt suited to each one of the people I was singing with and that’s how we chose them.

“That’s the approach I wanted to take and I wanted to do arrangements of the song to suit that particular person,” Warwick told Billboard.

Ultimately, this is one album that is perfect to play on Christmas Eve.
