All You Need To Know About ‘Mystify: Michael Hutchence’ Documentary

Before you leave 2019 in the past, there is one music documentary you need to get your eyes onto, this ‘Mystify: Michael Hutchence’ as written and directed by Richard Lowenstein.

The doco was only released this year and takes a heartfelt journey into the captivating life of globally-acclaimed INXS frontman, Michael Hutchence.

Despite spending much of his life fronting the bright lights, Hutchence rarely revealed his true self to anyone but anyone close to him knew he was actually a shy, complex man underneath.

A compilation of intimate glimpses into rare archival footage combined with interjecting audio commentary from those who were closest to him gives anyone a personal insight into his life.

Arguably, some critics claim the fast-paced snippets of his performances really fail to let Hutchence’s talent speak for itself.

After directing several music videos for INXS, Lowenstein has described creating the documentary almost as an apology for not being there for Hutchence when he took his life in Sydney back in 1997.

You can expect to see all the highs and lows of Hutchence’s life, from growing up to reaching the peaks of international stardom and then the sudden Copenhagen accident which removed his sense of taste and smell,  leading to the slow unravelling of his personal and professional life.

A complementary album has already hit the shelves, go get yours HERE.

If you haven’t checked out the FULL documentary, go watch it tonight HERE.
