Odette teams up with Hermitude on ‘Feverbreak’

Soulful, dramatic, passionate and unpredictable are the words used to describe Odette’s latest single, ‘Feverbreak’ featuring Hermitude.

For the Sydney-based singer songwriter, writing the tune was actually a relief.

“For me, writing this song was a relief, I could finally allow myself to feel the anger I was locking away in my heart,” Odette said.

The chaotic electronic production was produced by Australian electronic hip hop duo, Hermitude and mixed by Scott Horscroft to accompany the feisty lyrics.

“Odette is a legend, keeping us in stitches the whole session and also managing to create an amazing tune at the same time.

“Her pen and paper were quick to weave an engrossing story and her melodies perfectly complemented the music,” Hermitude said.

Odette first burst onto the scene in 2017 with heartfelt ballad, ‘Watch Me Read You’ which came in at 56 on Triple J’s Hottest 100 and details the complexities of processing trauma.

Not long after, she dropped singles, ‘Collide’, ‘Take It To The Heart’ and ‘Lights Out’ which all hit gold status while her debut album, ‘To A Stranger’ nabbed 13th spot on the ARIA Album Charts.

In 2018, she received two ARIA nominations, including one for Breakthrough Artist.

In celebration of this new groovy single, Odette is ready to hit the road on the Feverbreak Tour, playing first in Adelaide for WOMAD, then Sydney and Melbourne before finally winding up at the Sunshine Coast’s, Big Pineapple.
