For those who don’t already know, Otiuh is Perth’s dynamic duo comprised of Jahmeil Baker and Cesare Papa fusing crisp rhymes with a psychedelic, funky production.
For those not acclimatised to their sound, their eclectic production has been likened to El-P and Brockhamptom.
Most of their influences stem from growing up listening to the likes of OutKast, Run the Jewels, Earl Sweatshirt and many more.
Meeting each other back in high-school, the pair spent a couple of years rhyming in each other’s backyards while attending festivals together which eventually propelled them to start creating something of their own.
They dropped their debut EP, ‘Cold Recreation’ in 2019, receiving airtime across both Rage and MTV, as well as being added to Apple Music’s, ‘The New Australia’ playlist.
Live music gigs may be on hold temporarily, but new music isn’t so get your makeshift dance floor ready for Otiuh’s latest tune ’21’.
“I feel like we’ve been working to make this track for years.
“The dance groove, the mix of live instruments and dusty samples, the ear worm hook,” Otiuh told Purple Sneakers.
