All You Need To Know: Curtis Waters Viral Hit ‘Stunnin”

“A TikTok hit and a threat to the major label system” – Rolling Stone.

‘Stunnin” is the new international hit from breakout artist, Curtis Waters and already has over 160 million streams and five million alone in Australia, as well as currently the top trending tune on TikTok.

We think Waters may in fact be one of the biggest lockdown success stories.

The Nepali-Canadian artist and producer, Curtis Waters from North Carolina is already making mega waves among many social media platforms.

Beginning lockdown as a student creating tunes in his bedroom to emerging three months later as the next big thing in pop all credit to a 15 second music clip he posted online.

Rolling Stone has already credited the tune as, “a beach-party ready slab of pop-rap that sounds like Will Smith’s, ‘Miami’ remade for the TikTok generation.”

That’s not all.

Channelling inspiration from recent viral hits such as Lil Nas X’s, ‘Old Town Road’, Waters decided to release a video series to accompany the tune which features a dance routine with his brother and as you can imagine quickly garnered thousands of views within hours.

In fact, Waters has been inspired by many hip hop greats for many years, relentlessly teaching himself how to produce by watching countless YouTube videos in the early hours of the morning and even skipping school to follow his passion.

His alter-ego name, Curtis Waters actually evolved from a comic book character he created as he navigated through some rather turbulent times in his life.

It was through this alter-ego, Waters found his confidence which allowed him to make music that tackled topics his parents and society may have found uncomfortable.
