New On The Block: Elhae

Known for his heartfelt melodic raps over sleek trap-style beats, Jamaal ‘Elhae’ Jones, better known as Elhae, is definitely one name you will want to remember.

Born in North Dakota and Atlanta-based, Jones grew up in the church, singing in his mother’s choirs and later was drawn to rap.

Growing up, Elhae quickly went on to perform choir solo’s and learning to play piano to soon composing his own songs which eventually led him to where he is now.

Elhae actually means ‘every life has an ending’ which is a philosophy Elhae lives by, that is appreciating how important it is to live life to our fullest potential by being ourselves, working hard and following our hearts.

That’s not all for this talented lad, he’s also independently released a slew of tracks like ‘Gold Rolex’, ‘Stars’ and ‘A.N.O.’ during the early 2010s and then fulfilled one of his career aspirations by signing to Atlantic Records.

Back in 2016, he released one of his most acclaimed albums yet, ‘All Have Fallen’ which briefly scraped the lower rung of Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

It was this album that featured the killer Kehlani collaboration, ‘Doesn’t Matter’.

The following year, Elhae returned with the ‘Aura II EP’ featuring some high-calibre features from Ty Dolla $ign, Rockie Fresh and Eric Bellinger.

Here are ya gal’s top three Elhae tunes ready for ya’ll to play on repeat during those summer days.
